Baked Maple Soy Chicken Drumsticks

Five ingredients are all you need for these simple Baked Maple Soy Chicken Drumsticks that are perfect for a weeknight!

Not only are these drumsticks so cheap, they're simple and delicious! The flavors are not overpowering which is perfect for kiddos!

The secret to delicious, sticky drumsticks is to glaze them periodically during baking. You're going to glaze 3 times, every 10 minutes, then bake until no longer pink. Broiling the last 3 minutes or so makes them even stickier!

Baked Maple Soy Chicken Drumsticks
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 lime, zested & juiced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup real maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • red pepper flakes, to taste (or black pepper)
  • sliced green onions, for serving (optional)
  • salt and pepper, if desired
Preheat the oven to 400 F and line a sheet pan with foil or parchment paper.

Dry the drumsticks thoroughly with paper towels. If desired, season with salt and pepper. (Remember that they are to be glazed with a soy sauce based glaze and then sprinkled with red pepper flakes so don't overdo it) Arrange on the sheet pan.

In a bowl, combine the lime zest, lime juice, minced garlic, maple syrup and soy sauce with a whisk.

Brush the drumsticks with the glaze. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes to taste.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until no longer pink. Glaze every 10 minutes for the first 30 minutes, so 3 times. If desired, Broil for 2 to 3 minutes to add some color and crispness.

Sprinkle with green onions and enjoy!
