Spicy and sweet, this Cranberry Jalapeno Jam over Cream Cheese is a perfect holiday appetizer to serve for the holidays!
Not only is this jam unique, it is incredibly easy to prepare. It has apples, cranberries, jalapenos, and spices to create a sweet and savory jam to top over cream cheese.
Any leftover jam is scrumptious over a grilled chicken breast too. As well as slathered atop a grilled turkey burger. Maybe on a pumpkin hamburger bun!
This jam recipe makes enough for two appetizers which is perfect for holiday party season.
Cranberry Jalapeno Jam over Cream Cheese
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and finely diced
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 apple, diced
- 1 tablespoon cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- zest of half a small orange
- pinch cinnamon
- 8 oz light cream cheese, softened
In a saucepan, add cranberries, jalapeno, and water. Cook until berries burst and are softened, about 10 minutes over medium heat.
Stir in sugar, green onions, cilantro, apple, and orange zest. Cook for 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and bubbly.
Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon. Cool to room temperature. Transfer to a bowl or jar and refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.
Place cream cheese on a plate. Pour half of the Cranberry Jalapeno Jam over top. Serve with buttery crackers.
